(II). Not less than two (2) years relevant working experience OR

Notes:
1. Students must obtain an individual pass for each assessment in
order to be issued the Diploma in Pest Control, Pesticide Safety and Health (QF Level 3).

2. There will be NO supplementary/deferred/make-up examination
offered in this subject. Absence from the final examination will
automatically result in a “Fail” grade for this subject.

3. Application for late assessment must be submitted to UCCL and
approved by the Programme Director of UCCL. Approval will
normally be given to an applicant who has presented an
acceptable medical certificate thereafter. Work or interview
related conflicts or other reasons (e.g. overseas travel,
engagement in work, duty trip etc. and clash in examination
schedule) will NOT be considered

Upon successful completion of this subject, students will be able to:

  1. Demonstrate an understanding of legal liability and standard operational practice relevant to pest control operation and pesticide, and occupational safety and health and any other legislation;
  2. Calculate the dilution rate and select proper pesticide formulation for giving correct and clear instruction for the operators to apply pesticide to control of pest at different stage of life cycle;
  3. Select the appropriate PPE in accordance with the application aerosol size of the pesticide formulation to prevent from health hazard and dangerous occurrences;
  4. Correctly read the instruction of pesticide label for safe use, handling, storage or transport of pesticide at work;
  5. Apply the pest control measures control including environmental, physical, biological and chemical in hazard hierarchy to ensure safe system at work.

  • Occupational Health and Safety at work – transportation, handling, storage, training, information, supervision and instruction (6 hrs)
